Who needs you today?
God desires to flow through us to others, using us as instruments of His love. When we open our hearts to compassion, God reveals those in need around us. God isn’t looking at our past, mistakes, or limitations. He only wants our willingness.
To live an abundant life, we must keep our hearts open- moving with compassion like Jesus did. When we move with compassion, like Jesus, we become vessels of His power and love.
In Matthew 15:32, we read,
Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.
Jesus didn’t just say, “Oh, what a pity, I really feel sorry for them.” He acted in love and power. He saw the sick and had this deep stirring in His heart for them. We can do the same. We may say, but I can’t open blind eyes, or I can’t feed a multitude! We have compassion that can lead us to help just one person. It’s not about what we can or can’t do; it’s about God’s power working through us as we follow His love.
“When we are someone’s miracle, God ensures we get all the miracles.”
You see, our hearts can be open or shut off for the love of God to flow through us. 1 John 3:17 says, if anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him?
We can be God’s feet, hands, and eyes, just like the Good Samaritan or not, like the Pharisee and Levite in the parable Jesus shares in Luke 10:25-37.
The good Samaritan wasn’t too busy to notice the beaten man on the road. Neither did he pass by on the other side like the Pharisee and Levite. He saw, he cared, and he acted.

Let’s not miss the opportunity to be used by God today. Let’s open our hearts wide to His compassion.
Sometimes, we can be looking for a miracle, but God wants us to be a blessing to another because when we are someone’s miracle, God ensures we get all the miracles.
How can we do that?
- Ask after someone today - it could be a friend, a family member you haven't seen in a while, or a fellow brethren.
- Join the community of believers in fellowship, prayer, and worship.
- Be open to giving towards the work of the Lord.
